ABOUT CREATIVE Cohort

What is a Creative Cohort?

A Creative Cohort is, at its simplest,  a conversational gathering of a select group of folks  - writers, artists, intellectuals. In some circles, they are called “salons.” Salons started in the tradition of the French literary and philosophical movements of the 17th and 18th centuries and have carried on taking various forms throughout the ages. Often, Salons took place in the private homes of the influential and affluent (think Woody Allen’s “Midnight in Paris”).

Hark & Bloom Creative Cohorts aren’t hoity-toity.

They are, however, for writers, artists, and curious folks who are eager to say “YES!” when creativity calls them. Our philosophy is anyone who creates is an artist. So, anyone who wants to bring a creative idea to life is welcome. You don’t need to be a published author, an award winning songwriter or even have a plan for what you want to do with your art. The calling to create is all you need.

Our Creative Cohorts are intimate (usually 12 folks or less).

They are, above all, a safe and sacred environment to write, paint, draw, whatever your medium  - and share your writing and other creations amongst fellow artists. They are filled with generous listening, thoughtful observing, and agreed upon Creative Cohort etiquette that lovingly keeps the focus on praise and hearing and seeing what we love about the creations (no critiquing permitted).
